As predicted, the Tiger Woods-Nike ad, running on the Golf Channel and ESPN, has set off a torrent of reaction.
And just in time for the Masters, which begins today.
Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5W Public Relations, called the ad “brilliant.” “This is about Nike,” he told me in a telephone interview. “The Tiger Woods Nike brand is damaged and won’t recover any time soon.”
But the ad, in which Woods’ father, Earl, can be heard talking to his son, “will get people talking about Nike, Torossian said. “The questions his father asks in the ad, those are the questions people are asking.”
